Prisca’s Story

I am from Nairobi Kenya from the Mukuru Slum. I lived in Cana Children’s home. My dad passed away and I was only left with my mother who was unable to take care of me thus my adoption into the Rescue Centre. I have two brothers who currently stay in the upcountry with my grandmother.
I came to know the Lord when I joined the rescue Centre after we were introduced to some teachings that uplifted us spiritually. I was prayed for and was saved. So far, accepting Christ as my personal savior is the greatest thing that has happened in my life.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I chose this course because I have a great passion in teaching and I love giving back to the society that enabled me to get to where I am now. In Daystar, I was allocated for work-study and it was a new experience for me. I found it a bit difficult, but I hope that with time, I will be able to catch up and cope well with the program. I perform my work-study duties at the chaplaincy office, and I think that this is a way of enhancing my spiritual life.
I joined the dance team under the Daystar Christian Fellowship and I’ve been quite active in matters of Christian activities. I did participate in the “One Sound One Voice” concert that was in partnership with Sing Africa and we were able to draw many souls back to Christ. I am also part of the Daystar Ladies Fellowship and this enables me to grow as a lady in Christ Jesus.
I am now in book three of my discipleship classes which I attend every Thursday. We learned about laying a foundation in Christ and His assurance of sufficient Grace over all that we do. I term everything that I have done and acquired this far as an achievement. It is all thanks to you, Daystar US, all your supporters and the almighty for bringing you into our lives.
I hope that after graduating with my degree I’ll have a job placement where I can expound my skills then go back to school and further my studies. I believe that one day I will become a great lecturer and professor. I would like to teach other teachers and create better teachers in the society.
Thank you for giving me a chance in education which is a milestone to my success. I can now see a brighter future awaiting me in this road to my destiny. This scholarship really means a lot to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. May the Lord continually bless you and increase you in all ways. Words alone can never be enough to express my gratitude. You remain in my thoughts and prayer. God bless you.
