Dear Daystar friends,

Even though President Laban has been so very busy overseeing the ever changing circumstances at Daystar, we were so thankful that he was able to take some time to share an update on what is happening at Daystar and in Kenya via zoom video.

He shared, “We at Daystar have seen disruption of immense proportions and things have come to a standstill across the country. Just the other day, we had food donations in the Kibera slums and more than 500,000 people turned up wanting to get supplies for their families. There was chaos and many people were injured and hurt. That gives you an idea of the desperation that confronts the average Kenyan arising out of this pandemic. So our social and economic and financial existence has been disrupted to the core.”

This time that is difficult here in the U.S. is becoming desperate for so many who have so little in Kenya - more than half of the population in Nairobi live in slum conditions. Please pray for Daystar University, as this is a very trying time, both in carrying out the mission and in finances. More than 90% of Daystar’s operating budget is from student tuition – right now, students and their families are struggling to pay; this means Daystar currently does not have the funds needed to operate. This is a critical time at Daystar, and we really need your prayers.
