Dr. James “Jim” Larson

Memorial Fund

James Larson, “Jim”, as he was known to his friends, was a beloved friend of Daystar and a long-time Daystar U.S. board member. Jim went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Jim embodied what it meant to be a servant leader in all that he did. He was a devoted follower of Jesus, and a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He also believed in the mission of Daystar University.

Jim was a man who loved God, loved family, and loved others. Jim held a Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. He was a professor of law at National University, in addition to serving 21 years in law enforcement. He served in the Army, including a year in Viet Nam.

He leaves behind a legacy of steadfast faith and devotion to his Lord. In the words of his wife, Ruth, “He’s hearing the Lord say, well done, Jim, good and faithful servant. Welcome home!”. Jim’s testimony included this statement, “My prayer, and my desire, is that I continually draw closer to my Lord as He continually draws closer to me, that I may serve him to my fullest ability.”

Jim is survived by his wife Ruth and sons Jeremiah & Joshua. More information to follow.
