“Daystar Students Don't have to Struggle Alone”
Oct. 10th, 2021
"Rejoice with those who rejoice,
weep with those who weep."
Romans 12:15 (ESV)
Every semester, Daystar focuses a week to raise awareness and provide support for those who are struggling with mental health struggles and addictions. The vision of the Daystar Compassion and Care Centre (DCCC) is to make Daystar a lead model university in promoting holistic health from a Christian perspective in Africa and the rest of the world.
The DCCC mission is provide holistic health programs through training, mentorship, counselling and offering psychosocial support programs to students, staff and the community.
We all need support, relationships, and community. Many students come from difficult backgrounds of abuse and hurts of various forms. Daystar exists to be more than just a place where students attend the classroom but also a community of love where students are mentored and grow together to support each other in love. Please watch Steve in the video below, a student leader of DCCC, share some of his story of support as well as a prayer from Rachel, the Assistant Chaplain at the Nairobi campus.
Thank you so much for your prayers and generous support!
Blessings,
Alan
